Porcelain

I was listening to the lyrics, properly, not just hearing the music, of Porcelain and felt ~inspired~.

it’s hard to breathe, my knees are weak
it’s a cold bath and I can’t feel my feet
porcelain, it’s the state that I’m in
hold me carefully, just one breath could shatter me

out that I’d crumble

The girl is surrounded by flowers, surrounded by what she perceived to be love and happiness. But then, there’s betrayal, sudden fragility. She becomes porcelain.

I also really wanted to draw flowers and cracks. The flowers were fun for an entire 10 minutes before being fucking annoying to continue drawing in a hyperrealistic painted style rather than a far simpler easier anime style. But I commit and I’m happy with the result. ((from the top left and going around to the bottom left the flowers are azaleas, roses, peonies, hyacinths, wisterias, pansies, chrysanthemums, dahlias, lilies)).

I experimented more with brushes this time, using more textures and a hexagonal brush to block out colours (inspired by alicexz ofc).

Next time I’ll draw something warm toned. All my paintings end up blue-ish.
